HOW TO GET

To the International Patagonia Tour 2010

The International Patagonia Tour 2010 has the start and the finish-line in the beautiful mountain village called San Martín de los Andes in Argentinean Patagonia and next to The Andes.
Competitors from Brazil, Colombia, Venezuela and other countries of the world can get the Race through Buenos Aires (Argentina) or Santiago de Chile.
Competitors arriving through Buenos Aires can fly to the airport of San Martín de los Andes (called Chapelco), or they also can fly to San Carlos de Bariloche.
There are buses from San Carlos de Bariloche to San Martín de los Andes, and this trip takes about 4 hours.
A cheaper option is to travel from Buenos Aires to San Martín de los Andes by bus. It is a journey of 1600 km (20 hours) but with a very good service on board.
The cost of the bus from Buenos Aires to San Martín de los Andes is U$S70 approximately.

Competitors who want to travel - by plane - from their country to Santiago de Chile have two options for travel to San Martín de los Andes.
One option is a connecting flight to Pucón (Chile). Pucón is a small village at the foot of Villarrica volcano, and from there a connecting bus to San Martín de los Andes.
This bus trips across The Andes, it takes about 4 hours and costs about U$S100.
The most economical alternative from Santiago Chile to Pucón is by bus (10 hours approximately) and then connect to the bus that crosses The Andes and reaches San Martín de los Andes.

Whatever the choice to reach the race, the recommendation is to get to San Martín de los Andes a few days before the race to enjoy this corner of the world!
San Martín de los Andes is a typical mountain village which has received strong European immigration during the past century, and that is reflected in its exquisite alpine architecture and a variety of cuisine in its restaurants, with tables on the street and its friendly people.
In San Martín de los Andes there are many mountaineering, mountain bike, clothing and technical equipment specialized shops.
The Organization has a special service for the accommodation of the teams.
Accommodation can be in hotels, inns or in the traditional huts (for 4 to 6 people and very comfortable to store bikes and make a barbecue or homemade food).
